Pastor David A. Reed
Pastor David Reed’s work in the ministry and the community can be well summed up as building bridges to connect people to God.
As a leader, Pastor Reed has fearlessly approached ministry to win souls for Christ. In 1999, following the leading of God, he crossed state lines and relocated his church to Griffith, IN from Chicago, IL, creating a tristate congregation with membership from Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan.
Understanding that the Gospel must be accessible to all men, Pastor Reed has created a comprehensive ministerial model to make the message of the Word of God accessible through various methods. Countless lives have been touched and changed through Reed’s Temple’s television and radio ministries. The Reed’s Temple Recording Choir has reached masses, performing internationally, producing top-selling CDs, as well as receiving a Stellar Award nomination.
Pastor Reed has been recognized by local and state political leaders, for his dedication to providing help and healing to the community. When a tornado devastated Griffith in 2008, Reed’s Temple was the first church in the city to respond to the disaster, providing food, water, and gas cards for the citizens. What started out as one church providing emergency care for one day, turned into an entire week of service to the struggling community. Local businesses began uniting behind Reed’s Temple, contributing food and supplies to the church for those devastated by the tornado.
